Our Story

Founded from a single class in August 2025, That Girl MCR has grown into a welcoming and inclusive dance community built on connection, confidence, and positive energy. Offering classes for beginners, improvers, and intermediate levels, it creates a supportive environment where individuals can learn, develop their skills, and explore movement at their own pace. The focus goes beyond technique, encouraging self-expression, creativity, and personal growth in a relaxed and uplifting atmosphere.

With a strong emphasis on community, That Girl MCR brings people together through a shared love of dance, making it easy to build friendships and feel part of something meaningful. It’s a space where everyone is encouraged to show up as they are, free from pressure or judgment, and simply enjoy the experience. Each session is designed to leave people feeling empowered, inspired, and connected, with the joy of dance at the heart of everything.

Sufia Grace

Founder, Teacher, Choreographer

Sufia Grace is a dancer, choreographer, and the founder of That Girl MCR, a community built from her passion for dance, connection, and moving for positive wellbeing.

She grew up in New Zealand, where she began dancing at the age of 5. Training in hip hop from a young age, she went on to compete at a national level, including at HHI Nationals, alongside various other competitions across New Zealand. Now based in Manchester after graduating from Auckland University of Technology in 2023, Sufia brings a diverse and expressive style to her work, blending heels and commercial dance with a strong focus on confidence, performance, and storytelling.

Sufia started teaching a weekly commercial class in August 2025 as a fun way to bring more dance opportunities into Manchester and create a space for people to move, connect, and try something new. What began as one weekly class quickly grew in popularity, with sessions selling out weeks in advance. In February 2026, this community was officially established as That Girl MCR.

Through That Girl MCR, she has created a supportive and empowering space where individuals can grow, connect, and develop both on and off the dance floor. She now offers three weekly classes across beginner, improver, and intermediate levels, creating opportunities for dancers at various stages of their journey.

Alongside running That Girl MCR, Sufia has worked across a range of creative projects, performances, and brand campaigns. Her credits include Viva Reggaeton Events, Savvy Talent LTD, Red Bull Pride Festival, Heads Creative, Goat Manchester, and commercial campaigns for Sablissime.

As a dancer, she has featured in projects such as 'Gotta Have It' (Savanna Darnell) and 'Left on Read' (Ellen Lynch). As a choreographer, she created movement for the artist campaign 'One Stop Shop' by Amaiitime, bringing her creative direction into the music space.

As a teacher, Sufia has delivered workshops for Allure Dance Collective, EMC, and taught classes at Savvy Heels and Kinetic Studio. She has also performed in showcases such as PNG, continuing to expand her experience within the industry.

Sufia’s work is rooted in creating spaces where people feel confident, supported, and empowered, using dance as an art form, way to connect, and enhance wellbeing.
